Buckingham On The Great Sound Buckingham On The Great Sound, 75 Middle Road, Bermuda – Sinclair Realty

Available as a short-term rental from November 2026 through June 2027, Buckingham is the picture of tranquility, enjoying a spectacular 4.8-acre (1.9 ha) rural location on a charming sheltered bay off Bermuda's Great Sound, and with Buck Island Nature Reserve as its nearest neighbour. Originally constructed c. 1821, this five-bedroom waterfront residence is Grade 1-listed, an acknowledgment of its architectural significance. A traditional welcoming arms staircase, framed by low-walled gardens, leads to the home's entrance foyer and elegant-yet-comfortable, two-storey U-shaped design. The turquoise swimming pool was a 2012 addition with surrounding terrace and dining pergola. Each February, fragrant freesias bloom in abundance under the grove of cedar trees. The sunset views are simply glorious. And then there is the romance of a private path lined with pink oleander, which leads to Buckingham's own sandy beach and what is surely one of the best protected docks in Bermuda. A timeless relaxed style prevails here, ensconced by sweeping lawns and fertile fields. For those who love country walks, the Bermuda Railway Trail -- a scenic 18-mile hiking and biking path that follows the abandoned route of the island's old railway system -- is accessed right from Buckingham's front entrance gate. The Rockaway Ferry to the City of Hamilton is also nearby.
